Psychoeducational Evaluations
Understanding how an individual learns is the first step toward identifying meaningful support.
Evaluation Options
Assessment batteries are individualized based on the referral question, history, and emerging results.
-
For adults who need updated information about cognitive functioning and everyday adaptive skills for transition planning, disability services, or other support needs. Evaluation includes standardized cognitive and adaptive behavior assessment, record review, interpretation of results, a comprehensive written report, and a results consultation.
-
A comprehensive evaluation for children and adolescents with concerns related to academic learning and possible Specific Learning Disability. Assessment is individualized based on the referral concerns and may examine cognitive abilities, processing skills, reading, writing, and mathematics to identify patterns of strengths and needs and determine whether findings are consistent with an SLD.
-
A targeted, in-depth evaluation for children and adolescents with concerns related to dyslexia and reading development. This evaluation goes beyond a general assessment of reading achievement to closely examine the specific skills and underlying processes associated with successful reading development.
Assessment may include word reading, decoding, spelling, reading fluency and comprehension, phonological awareness and processing, rapid naming, orthographic processing, and related cognitive and academic skills. This comprehensive approach helps identify where a breakdown in reading is occurring and why, while also highlighting the learner’s individual strengths.
Results are integrated to determine whether the pattern of findings is consistent with dyslexia and/or a Specific Learning Disability in reading and to provide individualized recommendations for intervention, instruction, and support.
-
Our most comprehensive evaluation option, combining a full Specific Learning Disability evaluation and expanded dyslexia assessment with additional evaluation of behavioral, attentional, emotional, and executive functioning factors that may be affecting learning or school performance. In addition to in-depth assessment of reading and dyslexia-related skills, this evaluation may include parent and teacher rating scales, attention and self-regulation, organization, task completion, executive functioning, and behavioral or emotional functioning. Findings are integrated with the cognitive and academic data to provide a more complete picture of the factors contributing to the student’s needs.
